SPRING VALLEY MAN SENTENCED FOLLOWING MURDER CONVICTION AFTER TRIAL
District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh, II, announced today that Oscar Garcia-Garcia, 30, of Spring Valley, New York, was sentenced to 25 years to life in State Prison by the Honorable Kevin F. Russo of the Rockland County Court on July 2, 2025. A Rockland County jury convicted Garcia-Garcia of Murder in the Second Degree following a three-week jury trial in March of 2025.
On December 28, 2022, in the late evening, the defendant was present in a bar in the Village of Spring Valley and came in contact with the deceased, Luis Pinduisaca-Villa, 54. The defendant waited for the victim to leave the bar and in the early morning hours of December 29, 2022, and followed him. At approximately 1:00 a.m., the defendant then stabbed Luis Pinduisaca in his throat area with a large kitchen knife. The victim’s body was subsequently discovered by a pedestrian lying in the middle of the road a short time after the stabbing occurred and notified law enforcement.
The Village of Spring Valley Police Department quickly began investigating the case and collecting evidence with the assistance of the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Blood evidence, articles of clothing, and a large kitchen knife were all recovered from the area where the body had been located. On December 29, 2022, Garcia-Garcia was interviewed by detectives and admitted to stabbing the victim and was subsequently arrested.
The case was prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Kathleen Devlin and Executive Assistant District Attorney Michael Peterson.
